Linkin Park New LP is One Step Closer

Linkin ParkAbout to Break Into New Ground

Linkin Park frontman Mike Shinoda is claiming that the band are set to release an album that is so unique that it will not fit into any previous music genre, “they’re going to have to come up with a new genre name for what this record is.” The album is planned for release around early 2010 but the key will be the quality of the music not the speed in which it is produced Shinoda told Rolling Stone magazine that “if we need to take a step back and make sure everything is top, top quality by our standards, we will.”

Before the release of another new Linkin Park album Chester Bennington, co-frontman with Shinoda will release his first solo project under the guise of “Dead by Sunrise”. The band has not just being resting on their laurel’s though, currently they have been collaborating with Hans Zimmer on the score for the new Transformers flick “Transformers: Rise of the Fallen. “New Divide” debuted at No.6 on the American Billboard Charts after its May release.

For the upcoming Shinoda holds great expectations for the upcoming Linkin Park LP hoping to break new ground for the group. “This isn’t necessarily a record that tells a story about a character or anything like that, but I do hope the record has a sonic identity, from beginning to end, that’s distinguishable from the other stuff we’ve done and distinguishable from everything else out there. I would love, at the end of the day, to be able to look at this record, and say its something totally new, totally true to the spirit of the band, and it doesn’t sound like anything else. That’s what we shoot for.”
