He was born Corodozar Calvin Broadus,Jr. in 1972 but the world knows him as one of the most famous rappers Snoop Dogg (a.k.a. Snoop Doggy Dogg). It was his mother that gave him the nickname of Snoopy thanks to his love of the cartoon Peanuts by Charles M.Schulz.
When he recorded his first record he took the stage name of ‘Snoop Doggy Dogg’ he kept this until his split with Death Row Records in 1998 and just became ‘Snoop Dogg’.
He is one of Dr Dre’s most notable protégés after climbing to fame upon the release of Dre’s 1992 ‘The Chronic’ with other members of his former starting group ‘The Dogg Pound’. This collaboration continued on Snoop’s debut ‘Doggystyle’ in 1993 being a huge success for Snoop. Nowadays he is working on numerous projects including recording, film appearances, reality television and Bollywood.
After all the arrests, convictions, divorces, marriage renewals and deaths, Snoop Dogg is the ultimate survivor still leading the way in July 2007, Snoop Dogg also made history by becoming the first artist to release a track as a ringtone prior to its release as a single, "It's the D.O.G.".
